IATSE 479 has partnered with C.H.O.I.C.E.S to hold a mobile food drive on Saturday, September 16 to benefit industry workers whose lives have been impacted by the current work stoppage. There are still spots open to receive groceries, volunteer for the event, and sponsor this important effort.
Food available for pick up Saturday, September 16th Only.
To Receive Groceries:
This opportunity is open to anyone currently impacted by the work stoppage due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. If you and your family have been affected by the strikes, this drive is for you. To fully register to receive groceries, please make sure to complete both steps below:
Pick your time slot for pick-up. Registering for a time slot helps with traffic flow on Saturday, so that you are not waiting a long time for your groceries. STEP 1: Register for a Time Slot HERE
Complete the registration form with the information about your household. This is an important step because the charitable organization we are partnering with (C.H.O.I.C.E.S.) is responsible for statistical reporting of numbers served, etc. We encourage you to complete the questionnaire in its entirety, but you do not have to answer any questions that are not marked as "required". STEP 2: Register for Groceries HERE
To Volunteer: If you would like to help out with packing or distributing items at the food drive, please register as a volunteer! We need 50 volunteers on Friday and 50 volunteers on Saturday, and you can sign up to work all or part of either or both days (click "See More Times" on the signup sheet). Friday, September 15, 2023 - 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM Saturday, September 16, 2023 - 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM Sign Up to Volunteer HERE To Sponsor: Event organizers are seeking additional sponsors to help provide boxes of food to cover 2500 local industry families in need.
