The Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office is once again hosting the 2018 “Film Day” at the Georgia State Capitol. Mark your calendars and plan to join us the morning of February 27 at the Capitol. Definitely an opportunity to come together to demonstrate to our lawmakers the positive impact of film and television production in Georgia and how it continues to generate money for the state and jobs for residents.
We would love to have you come to the Capitol to share your stories with passing legislators, but because we know a lot of people will be working, here’s an additional idea that we’re encouraging our members to act on:
Lee Thomas, Deputy Commissioner of the Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office and her team have come up with an opportunity for those folks to still demonstrate their support for the industry. The Entertainment office is going to be producing a special video that will play in the rotunda during Film Day, and we are encouraging you to submit a photo of yourself and or your team – holding a sign with a positive message for legislators and Governor Deal to see (thank you, …appreciate you helping me to support my family with the film industry, …I get to work in Georgia doing what I love, …I bought my house with film money, etc…). It’s going to be a photo montage of people impacted by the industry, either directly or indirectly.
Send your photos as soon as you can to email@example.com. And of course, pass along this information to anyone working within our industry.
